DTF Transfer Heat Pressing Instructions

🛠️ How to Press Your Moose and Main DTF Transfers

Follow these steps for a professional, retail-quality finish that lasts wash after wash.

1. Prep Your Garment

  • Heat your press: Set your heat press to 300°F - 320°F (149°C−160°C).
  • Pre-press: Press your garment for 5-7 seconds to remove any moisture and wrinkles. This ensures a perfectly flat surface for the transfer to bond.

2. Position & Press

  • Alignment: Place your DTF transfer onto the garment with the printed side down (clear film facing up).
  • The Press: Apply Medium to Firm pressure for 12-15 seconds.
Note: If you are using a hand press (like a Cricut EasyPress), ensure you are leaning into it to provide enough consistent pressure.

3. The "Peel" Hot, Warm or Cold

  • Our transfers can be peeled either hot, warm or cold. If you are having trouble with a hot peel, it is highly suggested you do a warm or cold peel.
  • Warm Peel: Let garment cool 12-15 seconds before moving on to peel.
  • Cold Peel: Remove the garment from the press and let it cool completely to the touch. This is about 60-90 seconds. We suggest moving on to the next couple tshirts and come back to peel.
  • The Peel: Slowly peel the clear film starting from one corner. If the design lifts, stop immediately, lay it back down, and press for another 5 seconds.

4. The "Finishing Press"

  • Seal it in: Cover the design with a piece of parchment paper or a Teflon sheet.
  • Final Press: Press one last time for 5-10 seconds. This "sets" the ink into the fabric fibers, gives it a softer "hand feel," and ensures maximum wash durability.

Troubleshooting Tips:

Incomplete Adhesion: If parts of the transfer are not sticking, increase your pressure and make sure your heat press temperature is appropriately calibrated
